What the desk collects
- Inquiries and offers: the name, email, message, and offer amount you submit, plus the referring page and a salted, truncated hash of your IP address used only to detect duplicates (it is not reversible to you).
- Concierge conversations: the messages you send and the replies, stored against the name they concern.
- Partner listings: your name, email, company, the names submitted, and the result of the DNS ownership check.
- Finder attribution: a first-party cookie named
desk_ref(30 days) when you arrive through a finder link, so the finder can be credited on settlement. - Server logs: standard request logs kept by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) for security and reliability.
What the desk does with it
To answer inquiries, run escrow-settled transactions, credit finders, review partner listings, and keep the desk safe. The desk does not sell personal data and does not run third-party advertising trackers.
The desk sends transactional email about your inquiry or listing, and, where lawful, brief outreach to businesses about a specific name relevant to them. Every outreach message carries a working unsubscribe link and a postal address; unsubscribes are honored permanently. Recipients in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom are not sent unsolicited email.
Processors
Cloudflare (hosting, database, DNS lookups), an email delivery provider (transactional and outreach mail), Escrow.com (settlement, under its own privacy terms), and Anthropic (the concierge model, which receives only the conversation and public facts about the name — never the private reserve).
Retention and your rights
Inquiry and listing records are kept as long as needed to complete and evidence transactions and to meet legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized. You may ask what the desk holds about you, ask for correction or deletion, or object to processing through the desk contact form. The desk will respond within thirty days.
Children
The desk is not directed to anyone under 18 and does not knowingly collect their data.
